Even Tyre Wear
All four tyres wear across their full width instead of shredding one shoulder — so you replace them as a set, on your schedule.
Professional computerised wheel alignment and precision balancing using advanced laser equipment. Improve handling, reduce tyre wear, and enjoy a smoother drive.
Average alignment time
Extra tyre life when aligned
Chennai roads do not forgive suspension geometry. A single hard kerb strike on GST Road can knock your toe angle out by a fraction of a degree — enough to scrub thousands of kilometres off a brand-new set of tyres, quietly, while the car still feels "fine".
Alignment is the cheapest service on our price list and the one that saves you the most money over the life of a set of tyres.
All four tyres wear across their full width instead of shredding one shoulder — so you replace them as a set, on your schedule.
Less rolling resistance means less fuel burnt just holding a straight line. Most owners notice it inside a tank.
Logo dead level on a straight road. If your wheel sits crooked to go straight, the geometry is telling you something.
Predictable response when you swerve or brake hard — the car goes where you steer it, wet road or dry.
Up to 20% more kilometres from the same set of tyres. On a set of four, that pays for a lot of alignments.
Balancing kills the steering-wheel shimmy at 80–100 km/h and the vibration you feel through the seat on the highway.
If you recognise even one of these, bring the car in. The wheel checkup is free and takes ten minutes — you only pay if the correction is actually needed.
Alignment is only as good as the rig it is measured on. Ours are serviced and re-calibrated every month — and we will happily show you the calibration log.
Four camera targets clamp to the wheels and the rig reads toe, camber, caster, thrust angle and SAI live as we adjust. You get a before-and-after printout against the OE specification for your exact variant.
A loaded roller presses against the tyre to simulate the weight of the car, so it finds the stiff spot a normal spin balancer misses. It is why we can cure vibrations other workshops give up on.
The bead is broken and levered without any metal ever touching your rim — no gouged lips, no scratched paint on expensive alloys. Every wheel is torqued to spec by hand, never rattled on with an impact gun.
They get used interchangeably at half the workshops in the city. They fix completely different problems, and most cars need both.
Fixes the angles of the suspension — how the wheels sit relative to the road and to each other. Nothing is added or removed; the tie rods and camber bolts are adjusted until toe, camber and caster read within the manufacturer's spec.
Fixes the weight distribution of each wheel — a wheel-and-tyre assembly is never perfectly even, so small counterweights are clipped or stuck to the rim until it spins true at speed.
Simple rule of thumb: the car pulls → alignment. The car shakes → balancing. Both, and you want the combo.
What customers ask us most before they book.
Every 10,000 km or every six months, whichever comes first — and immediately after any hard kerb or pothole strike, after suspension work, and whenever you fit new tyres. On Chennai roads we see plenty of cars that need it sooner than the book says, which is exactly why the wheel checkup is free: come in, let us measure, and only pay if it is actually out.
About 45 minutes for a standard four-wheel alignment, and roughly 30 minutes for balancing all four wheels. The combo takes a little over an hour. Book a slot on WhatsApp and the ramp will be free when you arrive — there is a clean waiting lounge with Wi-Fi and coffee if you would rather stay with the car.
Usually, yes — they solve different problems and most cars that have covered 10,000 km need both. Balancing is compulsory any time a tyre has been taken off the rim; alignment is what you need when the geometry has been knocked out. That is why we price the combo below the sum of the two. If your car only needs one, we will tell you and charge you for one.
The car pulling to one side on a flat road, a steering wheel that sits off-centre while you drive straight, uneven or feathered tread wear, a shimmy at highway speed, squealing tyres on slow turns, or steering that feels vague and wandering. Any one of those is worth a free checkup — several of them together and you are actively burning through a set of tyres.
Probably not on its own — vibration at speed is almost always a balancing problem, not an alignment one. Alignment cures pulling and uneven wear; balancing cures shake. Our road-force balancer also picks up out-of-round tyres and bent rims, which a normal spin balancer cannot see, so if a vibration has survived a balance somewhere else it is worth bringing it to us.
We strongly recommend it. Balancing is done automatically as part of every tyre fitting at Nine Tyres, but if the geometry that wore out the old tyres is left uncorrected, it will chew through the new ones just as fast. Getting the alignment done on the same visit costs a fraction of a tyre and protects the whole set.
